FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you accept insurance? We accept PPO insurance as an out-of-network provider. We will provide you with a super bill that you may send to your insurance company for direct reimbursement.  To determine the net cost of your session using your PPO insurance, please research and compute your deductible, the total deductible amount already accrued for the calendar year, and the percentage of the therapy fee your insurance company will cover.

What type of payment do you accept? We accept all major credit cards and HSA cards. We also accept cash and checks if preferred. All sessions are paid for the day of the session, and balances can not be held.

Who will my therapist be? After speaking with our admin, she will connect you with one that fits what you’re looking for depending on your desired goals and schedule. Additionally, you have the option to request a specific therapist after reviewing the therapists here on our site. It is important to note if you request a specific therapist, they may have a waitlist or currently not accepting new clients. If that is the case, our admin will work with you to determine if you’d like to join a waitlist or connect with another available therapist who has similar specialties and therapy style.

How long can I expect to be in therapy? The length of therapy is unique to each individual and couple and truly is determined by your life experiences and your goals for therapy, as well as the extent of your needs. At the beginning of treatment, we will work with you to determine your goals and then check in with you regularly to assess and re-evaluate. It's important to remember that therapy is not a quick fix, but rather a process of self-exploration and growth that leads to lasting and sustainable change.

How long is each session? Each session is 50-55 minutes in length. 75-minute sessions are also available upon request and at times recommended for EMDR, Couples therapy, and intensive therapy sessions.

How much do sessions cost?  Our base fee for a Licensed Therapist ranges from $190-$225 per session. We also offer services with our registered associates for $160 per session. Our associates as well as some of our licensed therapists occasionally offer fees on a sliding scale. Please feel free to call us at 858.355.7998 to discuss fees and to determine if you are eligible for a sliding scale rate for therapy services.

How frequent are sessions? Research shows that clients who engage in weekly therapy benefit more from their therapy experience than those who come in every other week. For this reason, we highly recommend scheduling weekly sessions. If you would prefer to meet more or less frequently, we would be happy to discuss a schedule that accommodates your financial and scheduling needs.

How do I book a session? If you are interested in booking a session for the first time, or coming back to therapy after a break, you can call or email us at our office. Our administrative assistant, Jenna, will get back to you within a business day. During your call, you will review your concerns, goals for treatment, and therapist preferences and schedule your first session based on what works for you. Following that call, your scheduled therapist will reach out to you to complete additional paperwork before the first session. On the day of your first session, come up to our waiting room, grab a Lacroix in the fridge relax, and enjoy the curated space designed with you in mind. Your therapist will come out to greet you shortly!
