Kelly A. Counts
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #108441, EMDR Therapist
As a therapist, my role is to be an agent of change in my client’s lives while simultaneously holding and maintaining a profound trust in my client’s ability to create their most authentic lives. Throughout therapy, I encourage a collaborative relationship with clients to maximize their strengths while decreasing and stabilizing symptoms, overcome life’s challenges, achieve goals and enhance relationship.
I approach therapy from an attachment and trauma informed lens. I use evidence-based treatment protocols, specifically EMDR, while integrating a safe and nurturing relationship with my clients in order to facilitate deep restoration. Additionally, I approach every client as a whole and healthy being capable of UNLIMITED growth regardless of a diagnosis or a severe history of trauma and pain. Pain and symptoms are our bodies way of communicating with us and together we will listen, attune and rebuild without judgments or limitations.
I have advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and am an EMDRIA approved Trauma Therapist. I specialize in treating complex trauma, sexual trauma and the full spectrum of anxiety and stress disorders. I am passionate about working with clients whom have been diagnosed with personality disorders, victims of sexual abuse and survivors of incest abuse. Growth and healing is not just possible but attainable together.
Furthermore, I am a veteran of 8 years and a military wife of 10 years. I am culturally competent in military families, deployments, combat PTSD and military sexual trauma.
